It was all about Ms. Lopez at the American Music Awards Sunday night.
JLO dethroned Spanish heartthrob Enrique Iglesias when winning the AMA for best "Latin Artist of theYear," an award which Iglesias had won five years in a row. Ironically the first artist to ever win that award in American Music Award history was his father Julio Iglesias.
Iglesias, who has a steamy new single out with Lopez called "Mouth to Mouth," gave the diva a big hug and kiss as she came on stage to accept her award.
“I didn’t expect to win,” Lopez said with her voice cracking. “It’s been an amazing year…up and down and just exciting and overwhelming and so many things."
Lopez then thanked her “family and babies” for inspiring her and making her “a better person.” She also thanked her manager Benny Medina, whom she called her “creative partner” as well as producer RedOne. Then she thanked her Latino fans.
“Mi gente latina!” Lopez yelled with her award high in the air. “Por todo… I love you gracias.”
La Lopez as she is called also proved why she is a fashion icon. The "I'm Into You" singer dazzled in a nude, shear-like train dress highlighting her curves and flawless skin.
This isn't the first time Lopez takes award ceremonies to enlighten folks on her chic sense of style.
Just last week JLO left jaws hanging when sporting a white, slit-high gown at the Glamour magazine awards, where she was honored as woman of the year.
The international pop star changed multiple times on stage, where she showed off her smooth dancing skills, slim figure and, of course, promoted a Fiat-- her new big endorsement deal.

Best and worst looks from MTV VMAs red carpet

It’s not the Oscars, OK?
So when taking a critical look at the fashions that paraded down the red carpet at Sunday’sMTV Video Music Awards, the standards are a little different. We’re not looking for the best ballgowns and ultra-luxe haute couture. Musicians are known for their creativity and individuality — especially when it comes to expressing themselves through fashion.

HERE ARE THE BEST OF THE BUNCH:

1. JENNIFER LOPEZ

Girlfriend has got a BODY and she’s not afraid to show it off. Just revealing enough, J. Lo pulls off this sizzling Charbel Zoe number while still managing to keep things on this side of tasteful. Extra points for the coordinating silver sparkle accessories.

2. IGGY AZALEA

Bravo, Iggy! It’s a big night for the Fancy singer, and she does not let us down. Her simple, slicked back hair lets us keep our focus on that amazing Versace dress that fits her figure to a T.

 3. GWEN STEFANI

Yep, this is what we’re talking about: a fun, hot look with a bit of attitude. Hot pink lips and a funky hair knot seal the deal.

 4. KESHA

Kesha, we’re impressed. The Johanna Johnson dress silhouette is long and lovely and figure-flattering, and your cotton candy-hued hair adds that extra edge.

AND THE WORST:

1. AMBER ROSE

No explanation necessary. Oy.

2. ARIANA GRANDE

I’m sorry, but visions of She-RaPrincess of Power, keep flashing through my mind and I just can’t get past that.

3. VICTORIA JUSTICE

Reminds me of a leather-clad squirrel who got caught in a paper shredder.

4. RITA ORA

Is this a dress or is this lingerie? She’s taking the “boudoir-inspired” dressing trend a bit too literally here. Not to mention it’s completely ill-fitting.

5. KIM KARDASHIAN

Avert your eyes and you’ll see that at least her skin is glowing and her hair is gorgeous. We’ll give her that.

E!'s Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne remember 'true genius' Joan Rivers

Peter Kramer, AP/NBC
Joan Rivers’ legacy at E! News can’t be denied, so it’s understandable that her Fashion Police co-stars Giuliana Rancic and Kelly Osbourne are shaken and grieving. Each woman released a touching statement, and the network plans to air a special dedicated to Rivers tonight.

GIULIANA’S STATEMENT:

It is almost impossible to describe how much I adored Joan and how much she has meant to me. She was not only the funniest woman I have ever met but was incredibly loving, honest, and lived her life with no regrets. Working with her for the last 13 years has been one of the true joys of my life. She could put a smile on your face, instantly, no matter how hard your day was. My heart goes out to Melissa and Cooper who have lost something that can never be replaced. Their bond was truly one-of-a-kind. They had the greatest mother and grandmother anyone could ever hope for. My life is so much fuller and happier because I got to share it with this beautiful person, a true genius. I woke up today unable to grasp what the world will be like without her and at the same time feel so privileged to have called her my friend.

I'm completely heartbroken by the loss of my beloved Joan. Not only was she my boss, she was and will always be my teacher, therapist, closest friend, inspiration and the only grandmother I ever knew. She was family and I will never forget her. Laughter will be difficult for a while but when I'm sad, lonely or upset all I will have to do is think of Joan and a smile will cross my face. Laughter is what she gave us and laughter is what she would want us to do in remembrance of her. Melissa and Cooper, my thoughts are with you and I love you both so much. Joan, thank you for taking me in and loving me as a daughter. I will miss you deeply and will always hear your voice in my head saying ‘my darling get out there and be you!’

Sob: Nina Dobrev and 'Vampire Diaries' boss talk Elena's emotional exit

Annette Brown, The CW
Spoiler alert! The following contains spoilers for the Vampire Diaries season six finale
Even though we knew it was coming, saying goodbye to Nina Dobrev’s Vampire Diaries character Elena Gilbert wasn’t any easier on Thursday night. While many fans thought Elena would die in the season six finale, the character actually survived the episode but fell victim to a Kai curse that put her in a coma until Bonnie dies, which will probably be a while.
Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec told The Hollywood Reporter that killing Elena woudl ahve been “the worstpossible way to say goodbye to that character. She continued:
“I don’t know if anybody — Nina Dobrev herself! — could have talked me into that. We had to tragically put an end to a character for the moment and make it seem final and permanent — which it is — (while) also leaving a door open with hope for the future. Which there is. That was what we set out to do, and I think we succeeded in doing that.”
Dobrev herself weighed in on Elena’s exit to THR:
“The whole six years, I always respected Julie Plec’s opinion. What she does is for the best of the show and the characters … it’s a beautiful episode, a tribute and a sad goodbye.”
“Sad goodbye” might be a bit of an understatement. Fans could barely keep it together on Thursday night:
Bye Elena. We’re definitely going to miss you (and we will never accept anyone else with Damon, let’s be real).

Yes! Mariah Carey says 'Empire' wants her to guest-star

It’s happening. We knew Mariah Carey was friends with Lee Daniels. And we knew that the show’s actors were praying she’d appear as a guest star.
And Mariah just added fuel to the fire in a new interview with the LA Times, teasing a potentialEmpire appearance:
What about outside the music, are you doing any more acting?
I am. There’s some other things on my horizon. Lee Daniels has promised me several roles soon and [sings] “I will hunt him down” if he doesn’t.

Maybe we’ll see you on “Empire”?
I wanted to give them a song. I thought one of these songs could be good really good for Cookie or Luscious. I have a song that I wrote with Big Jim [Wright] and Jermaine [Dupri] and I think it could be really right for the show. But Lee wants me to do a character, that’s what he says. But we’ll see what he does with next season.
Mariah is busy with her new Las Vegas residency through July (well, as long as she doesn’t keep getting sick), but after that, who knows?
Time to start imagining our dream Mariah Empire character — and her incredible costumes. Tell us this fierce studded cast isn’t straight from the Empire wardrobe department.
